On June 4, 2026, the UK government announced that universities with excessive dropout rates will be stripped of their right to recruit international students. A new Red-Amber-Green compliance rating system under the Basic Compliance Assessment (BCA) took effect June 1, 2026, covering enrolment, course completion, and visa refusal rates. Meanwhile, the Graduate Route visa for bachelor's and master's graduates will be reduced from two years to 18 months starting January 1, 2027, while PhD graduates retain three years. 紐西蘭移民局宣布，自2026年11月16日起，將正式開放申請全新的「短期畢業生工作簽證（Short-Term Graduate Work Visa）」，提供6個月開放式工作權利，適用於完成NZQCF第5至7級資格（至少24週全日制在紐學習）但目前不符合「畢業後留紐工作簽證」資格的學生。同時，「畢業後留紐工作簽證（Post Study Work Visa）」的資格也擴大至持有「7級研究生文憑」並已擁有任何學士學位的畢業生，可在紐西蘭合法工作最長1年。兩項簽證費用均為1,670紐幣（約新台幣32,000元）。這是紐西蘭提升國際教育吸引力的重要舉措。
From November 16, 2026, New Zealand will open applications for the new Short-Term Graduate Work Visa, offering 6 months of open work rights for graduates who completed a full-time NZQCF Level 5–7 qualification (minimum 24 weeks) in New Zealand but are not eligible for the Post Study Work Visa. Eligibility for the Post Study Work Visa also expands to those holding a Level 7 Graduate Diploma plus any bachelor's degree (from anywhere), for up to one year of work. Both visas cost NZD$1,670. New Zealand aims to grow international enrolments from 83,400 in 2024 to 119,000 by 2034.

According to Keystone Education Group data, five of the world's top ten study-abroad search destinations in November 2025 were in Europe. Spain's search volume nearly matched the UK's, while Germany, France, and Italy all surpassed Canada and Australia. Nordic destinations rose 33% in interest.
